As noted by the American Dental Association, a person without a mouthguard is “60 times more likely to suffer harm to the teeth” when engaging in sports. There are no guarantees against sports injuries, but properly fit mouthguards help protect the teeth, lips, jaw, tongue and face.
Mouthguards may also reduce the rate and severity of concussions, according to the ADA. And, a serious injury to the mouth can cost thousands of dollars.
